Item #: SCP-1184-RU

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: The territory on which Mine ██-█████ ██████ is situated is to be fenced off with rabitz netting around the security perimeter. An observation post is to be erected next to the former mine constructions, where staff members of the Internal Security Department who guard the object are to be stationed, as well as engineer and research staff during scheduled works with the object.

Once per two months all the constructions linked to SCP-1184 are to be survied by Engineering and Technical Service Department. If neseccary, the mine vaults and all the passages leading to the object are to be strengthened.

Inside SCP-1184 video- and audio-recording equipment is to be placed; should any changes inside happen, they are to be reported to the staff member in charge of the object.

Description: SCP-1184 is a room of an unknown purpose, the only known entrance to which is possible through Mine ██-█████ ██████. At the moment when the anomalous effect was discovered, the mine was abandonded due to its depletion, thus making it uneconomical to continue mining operations. All the staff who worked there claims that SCP-1184 had not previously existed.

According to the mine plans, a blind shaft, which was previously used for the staff's transportation to the gallery level, leads to SCP-1184. It is impossible to get to that level by any other means; the rest of the passages are strewn with refuse rock and it is impossible to clear them without the risk of collapsing all the underground passages system. SCP-1184 looks like a quite old abandoned room with simple decorations. The following things has currently been discovered inside SCP-1184:

  • some pieces of furniture and everyday objects with the signs of ageing and wearing; the only remaining label on a nightdesk says that it was produced by Moscow Furniture Assebly Plant #2 in 1988;
  • old speleological equipment;
  • a certain amount of food supplies (already spoiled at the moment of discovery), the date of manufacture is 1988;
  • ██████ ████'s diary (see Addendum).

It is noteworthy that [REDACTED] Street can be presumably seen from the only window inside SCP-1184, however, a building which can offer such a view does not exist. All the attempts to open the window or break it or leave the room by any other means have failed.

Besides, there is a closed wooden door inside SCP-1184, which is impossible to open. Approximately once a day it can be heard that someone tries to open it from the other side; however, nothing apart from that happens.

Addendum-1184-A.
Extracts from the document found inside SCP-1184 are provided below, which presumably happens to be ██████ ████'s diary, who officially went missing in 19881.

Addendum-1184-B: Report on Experiment-1184-13

'I do not know which one of them was right. And I do not know what these damned miners found while they were dugging this damned soil. But a certain thought tortures me now, a thought that one day it won't be a room in a mine, but a room in an ordinary house. And I don't really feel like standing there frozen with a face of a retard. If only I am not standing like that at all right now'. — Dr. Gudvin
